About Kinderteckel Standard Smooths

In addition to continuing the Schoolhouse line, I (Emi Pedraza) actively co-own and co-breed with Kristin Cihos-Williams (my mother) of Kinderteckel Standard Smooths. 

Kristin has been in the breed since 1992, and credits much of her breeding success to her mentor, Polly Fleming.

Today, we are the only breeders of standard smooths on the West Coast that consistently do verifiable OFA health testing, generation after generation. Currently, there are 35 CHIC (Canine Health Information Center) registry dogs over the years from our breeding program showing in the OFA registry.  We honor the DCA Code of Ethics, are AKC GOLD Breeders of Merit, and are active officers of The Dachshund Club of California. 

Our standard dachshunds compete and excel in AKC conformation events and performance/field trial events.  We have bred and finished AKC conformation and AKC field/dual championships on 55 standard smooth dachshunds in this country.  Our dogs have competed at a national level, earning top placements in the AKC statistics and winning at the Dachshund Club of America national specialty. We have dogs of our breeding competing in the show rings in Europe, Russia, Brazil, Canada, etc. Our breeding program has produced multiple ROMO, ROMX, and ROM (Dachshund Club of America top producer designation) producers. In performance competition, Kinderteckel standard smooths have achieved obedience, rally, earthdog, barn hunt, Fast CAT, Therapy Dog, and field champion titles.  Again, our breeding program is small and selective, with all dogs being house dogs.
